Meditation, Somatics & Yoga Instructor
Jodi is the Founding Director of The Washburn Meditation Center where she teaches meditation and yoga. She also teaches meditation and yoga along with mathematics and physics at Northland College. And she is the mother of four wonderful kids!
Jodi began practicing meditation in her late teens and has studied in the Zen, Insight and Tibetan Buddhist Traditions. Since 2018 she has been a student in the Tergar Tradition, the Meditation Community of Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Master Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, and a practice coordinator for the Tergar Washburn practice community. This January, Jodi will complete her two year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with renowned Insight Meditation Teachers Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Jodi has been teaching meditation to young children, teenagers and adults since 2018.
Jodi has been practicing yoga since her early twenties and completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga North in Duluth in 2011. She also completed a 40 Hour Ashtanga Primary Series Teacher Training with David Swenson in 2016. Jodi has been teaching yoga for over ten years now and loves to teach in a variety of styles including Vinyasa, Hatha and Somatic Yoga.
Jodi loves dancing, camping, hiking, paddle boarding, cross country and downhill skiing, cooking, baking, listening to all kinds of music, along with singing and playing bass in her band The Chequamegon Bay People’s Orchestra.
